As an abstract painter I am interested in creating expressive marks to engage the viewer into looking closer. I work in acrylic as well as oil paint and also use mixed media. Some of the materials I use are old photos, old family letters, maps, string and cardboard. Basically anything that can be attached to the board or canvas. I also love using tissue paper that I paint and dye.

My process is intuitive. I start painting and collaging freely. At some point, as I see where the painting is leading me, I start editing. I respond to the marks and colors I’ve made. After the process of create and destroy, I come to a point where I feel it is done. Many times even after varnishing I will go back to a painting and change it.
